ObjectDCL is going open source

Anonymous

Hi, over the last while you might have know that I have been unable to work on ObjectDCL due to a severe medical condition. For this I must apologize. I have decided that since I cannot put the energy in that it deserves, I am going to post ObjectDCL as an open source project on www.sourceforge.net. Anyone will be able to download the compiled software and anyone will be able to sign in and contribute to its further development. Essentially ObjectDCL will become a community development project.

Thanks everyone, Chad Wanless

I hope everything is getting better for you Chad, and will continue to. I
know a lot of people will be happy to help develop the ObjectDCL program.

Best wishes to you and your family.

There's only one Chad!!! I hope everyone else can contribute to your
achievement!!!

Visions...without them we'd still be in the dark...

To all who contribute and share there inginuity...I appload OUTLOUD!!!

Autodesk, without these individual, you'd still be in the box...

You should share your wealth with those who made a difference in your
product...like Chad, and so many others...

I speak in silence, so that I bring no recognition to myself...only know
this...remember those who've sacrified their lives, jobs, time, money...

I no longer code, but work on my education, and personal goals, which don't
include ADT...nor your present nor future releases....

I hope you get better soon. As one of the early ObjectDCL users I really
appreciate all of the work that you had put into it and it was an excellent
program.

Hi Chad,

This is great news. I was feeling so desapointed to give up on ObjectDCL.
But now I feel relieved. The world would be a much better place if everybody
would express this kind of generosity. With all my sympathy and
consideration, I wish you a speedy recovery and get well soon.

Chad,

Thank you for your contribution to the Autocad Community.

You are a genius. You have shorten the gap among the
programming languages and tailored them together for
people like me. Thank you for making my programs
look good.

Bravo for all your efforts and for the kind gesture. I
wish you well & your family. So go on & beat that
thing & I hope to hear from soon.

Hi Chad.

We're very saddened to hear your medical condition is such that you've not
been able to work on ObjectDCL. Your work on ObjectDCL represents a
significant and inspiring contribution to the CAD community, punctuated by
the generous decision to donate it to open source. We recognize and
sympathise how difficult the decision must have been and indeed the
poignancy of it (your loss, the community's gain). You have our genuine
gratitude and respect; know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and
your family.

Chad,

Though I'm not familiar with your software, I am aware of the respect it deserves.

Hope you can beat whatever is ailing you.

Thanks for open source, but obviously everyone here hopes you will return to the
project eventually.
