I am wondering if it is possible to create the curtain wall grid divisions via a 'sketch mode' or by referencing 2d geometry. The reason I ask is because in order to get my spacing I had to draw it out in autocad anyways. It seems like instead of laying down each line, one at a time, there should be a way to just refer to this geometry or create it in a simple sketch mode.
Can anyone suggest how I might do this?
thanks
I don’t think it’s possible to create curtain grids via sketch mode or by referencing 2d geometry. I tested in 2013 by creating a section of Curtain Wall and exporting to DWG. I then bought it into a new Revit project but could find a way to using it, other than as an underlay. I’m not sure if a third party add-in exists, but I can see the benefits.
Thanks for posting.
Alan thanks for the response. Nice to know you someone's listening 🙂
i think this would be an invaluable tool and would make it far quicker & easier to generate curtainwall grids, particularly ones with alot of discontinuity. MIne is extremely tedious to implement whereas I was able to lay something out in autocad very quickly...
Hopefully functionality such as this will be available in a future release. Thanks again...
