I know there is a way to lock the background color so it stays the same every time you open the program. I've done it before but with Revit there are so many clicks and buttons I cannot remember these little details from one instance to the next. I just reinstalled the program and now the background is white every time I open it. I want it to be black. I can change it to black, no problem. However, every time I open the program I have to change it again. Please do not tell me white is better. Black is what I want.
The best option for a background is going for an (RGB 070, 070, 070) this will make your background "dark grey" I have found this color to be the optimal background as it allows you to see both white and black on it. This is also a nice sweet spot between the pros and cons of using a completely White or Black background.
In order to change the color go to "File" in Revit and then "Options" and click on the Graphics tab. Under Colors pick "Background:" and change the RGB to 070 Red, Green and Blue.
Good luck an let me know if this helped.
