In sketch mode, there is a function to split lines, but I don't see one to join lines.
(I'm talking about colinear lines with the ends touching - I want to convert two lines into one).
It may seem trivial, but I'd like to use these lines in frame generator to select by a single line and not by endpoints of two different lines. Less clicks and more consistency in my model.

What version are you running?
In 2012 there is not a way to do this. Sounds like it might be worth submitting to the Inventor IdeaStation.

I'm in Professional 2014.
Seems like such a simple thing to add in the next update. I'm used to using this command in AutoCAD, so I know that AutoDesk knows how to program it!
Understood. There is no doubt that the programmers know how.
That is why I gave you the link to the Idea Station so you can input it. If you do post, then make sure you cross reference this thread in the idea as well as post a link here to the idea.

Already on it - http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Inventor-IdeaStation/Join-lines-in-sketch/idc-p/4333232#M2286
Thanks for verifying that the feature doesn't exist and that I'm not just losing it - because it's been one of those weeks. 🙂
The people who programmed AutoCAD are not allowed to speak to the people who program Inventor. Plus if they do do something in, say, the Assembly environment, do not expect it to work in the Part or Drawing environment.
