can anyone give me some insight on how or where I can get an activation code for this software? Or who I to talk too?
Sure, it is easy -
Contact your VAR where you purchased the software.
i didnt buy the software, i'm a student at ITT and we're allowed to download and use the software for school. At least that's whaat we were told. Any idea how i can handle this?
This link is dead till Monday but is where you need to go:
Autodesk should post this at the top of this Forum as it is a question asked at least ten time a day.

You should include all information that is relevant to your question.
On Monday check the "My Software" link on the student community.
I have the serial number as well but I have no idea how to activate the AutoCAD 2010 using the serial.
Do give advice as well.
Hi:
You may click on this link:registeronce.autodesk.com to register your serial number. You may log-in using the same user ID and password you use when logging in to your Education Community website. Should you encounter any further issue or concern, , please call our Registration and Activation Team Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 8 PM Eastern time at 800-551-1490 (US/Canada).
Thanks!
