I also have the same issue. I followed your directions about downloading and installing http://65.55.87.8:80/download/9/7/7/977B481A-7BA6-4E30-AC40-ED51EB2028F2/vcredist_x86.exe but the problem persist.
What other options do we have????

Thank you for reporting this issue.
The Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package available from Microsoft's website: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=a7b7a05e-6de6-4d3a-a423-37bf0912db84.
You can download and install it firstly, and then reinstall ADR 2012 again.
Hope that helps.

By the way, you can refer to Autodesk Design Review Installation Guide for more information.
Hope that helps.
The problem still exists with AutoDesk Design Review 2012 as well. The source of the issue seems to be that Microsoft has updated the Visual C runtimes to newer versions than the installer recognizes. This installation issue stops all versions of the installer: Enterprise .MsI (stops on "missing" 2008 which is already intalled in both x86 and x64 versions), Enterprise .Exe (displays message about an incorrect version of O/S and is only 11KB in size ???), Interactive (web server hosted) Installer/Downloader (fails with 0x0 error on the 2010 install attempt which Microsoft correctly denies when AutoDesk tries to install an older version over your already installed newer version). I performed the interactive version install attempt with AutoDesk support on the telephone to make sure everything was done "right".
Here is a solution for the current AutoDesk Design Review 2012 which tests for Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 32-Bit Redistributable Package:
1. Turn off Microsoft Auto-Updating, if it is currently enabled.
2. In "Control Panel" "Programs and Features": Remove "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable - 10.0.40219".
3. Download and install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable Package (x86)" (Version 10.0.30319.1, 2010/04/12):
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=5555
4. Install "AutoDesk Design Review 2012".
5. In "Control Panel" "Programs and Features": Remove "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable - 10.0.30319".
6. Download and reinstall "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)" (Version 10.0.40219.1, 2011/03/03):
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8328
7. Turn back on Microsoft Auto-Updating, if it was originally enabled.
Steps 1 and 7 are optional if you want to take the risk, or the auto-update scheduled time is some other time of day.
Here is a solution for a future AutoDesk Design Review 2012 which might test for Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 64-Bit Redistributable Package:
1. Turn off Microsoft Auto-Updating, if it is currently enabled.
2. In "Control Panel" "Programs and Features": Remove "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable - 10.0.40219".
3. Download and install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable Package (x86)" (Version 10.0.30319.1, 2010/04/12):
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=14632
4. Install "AutoDesk Design Review 2012".
5. In "Control Panel" "Programs and Features": Remove "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable - 10.0.30319".
6. Download and reinstall "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)" (Version 10.0.40219.1, 2011/03/03):
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=13523
7. Turn back on Microsoft Auto-Updating, if it was originally enabled.

I really hope someone in this thread can help me soon! I'm trying to install autocad 2012, but i keep getting denied with:
Installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86): C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_2012_English_Win_64bit\3rdParty\x86\VCRedist\2010\vcredist_x86.exe /q
/l C:\Users\Caleb\AppData\Local\Temp\vcredist_x86_2010.log
2012/3/19:00:34:50
Installation aborted, Result=1603
I took that from the installation log. I have only Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable - 10.0.30319 installed as instructed before, so what do I do?!
Thank you for reporting this issue.
One another discussion group focuses specifically on AutoCAD product. I suggest that you can post your question in that group.
Please try the following link for your convenience.
I seem to have the same issues as above, however, I do not have Version 10.0.40219 installed on my machine, and I do have version 10.0.30319.1 already installed. I re-downloaded and installed it, but my installation hangs in the following manner. The installation has deleted my previous version already, so I'm dead in the water to view dwf's.
Nevermind, I found the sticky at the top of this forum. I downloaded the msi .zip file and the installation worked.
