I tried to convert from 2010 to 2007.
I am receiving the same error.
The drawing is saved on my desktop.
Is there a fix?

Has anyone come up with a solution for this yet?
I use the 32-bit version of DWG TrueView on my computer and I can convert a file no problem.
I use the 64-bit version on a colleagues computer and get the error message that the file could not be saved due to a sharing violation or disk write problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know how but i managed to solve this problem (it occured to me too).
In the window "DWG Convert" double-click on "convert to 2007 (in-place)", or in your case the 2004 line. A new window opens. Change File Format in the dropdown list to DWG trueview 2007/ Autocad 2007 drawing format. Now try again to convert your file, it worked for me.

Tompax's solution (above) didn't work for me, but it gave me the hint to figure a solution that DID work.
double-click on the "convert to [2004][2007][2010] (in place)" ...just as Tompax says.
under "Conversion package type" you have a list of choices. i chose "Zip" (rather than "in-place"). i also checked the
"check and fix errors" box on the right -- but i dont think that was it.
in any case, the new Zip file worked just fine. file opens up now.
I found the following solution,
go to conversion setup, modify and change the file folder to the same place where is the file to convert.
I hope that help you.
Regards.
