Please allow the ability to set defined users able to run the Job Processor utility so just any account with Vault access can't run it. We've ran into an issue twice now where a random user has launched the Vault Job Processor on their machine (on accident and unknowingly) and it is picking up jobs without the correct permissions and configuration. It would be nice to have the option to limit the Job Processor role to a specific user(s) to prevent a job being processed on the wrong machine/setup. Thanks! Show More

The current LowPriority mode, defined in web.config on ADMS servers, needs more flexibility. (Autodesk docu)   At the moment it is only possible to define a start and end time for every day. It would be nice to define times for each day separately. For example on the weekend it needs no low priority, servers can run with full power.   In our case we have only one DB, subribers are AVFS servers and its a global system, so we have only a slot for 3 hours daily to run not with low priority and on the weekend sometimes we do changes which should be done then with full power.   Thank you Show More

We would like to display the folder links in the Copy Design as they do in DataStandard. We have do export our dwg as an eTransmitt out of AutoCAD at the end f our projects. This are may fils and exports. It wozld be grate, if there is a job of the job-processor that can do this automaticaly. It schuld be possible to config the settings for the eTransmitt. It have to be possible to define the settings specicicaly for diffrent projects, may be by using the category of the file. Show More

Hello, Automatic flat pattern exports of sheet metal parts to DXF in Vault are a very interesting feature. I would like to add a criterion in their configuration options to select the model state to be used during this export. This criterion would allow choosing the default model state that should be activated for the export; if it is inaccessible, then the "Master" state would be selected instead. This would make it possible to handle, for example, cut and machined parts requiring an allowance for material removal, which may have a model state such as "As-cut part," or cases where the cutting contour is managed within a specific model state. We would like to create a multi-column window. Dear support, Our Vault is very big and more then 10 years old. A lot of things has happened is these years and a lot of properties are changed and/or being disabled. Lots of these properties are "Disabled" in the Vault>Behaviours>Properties>property definitions, But the associations is still on "File", because I can not remove this. (Even when the Usage Counts = 0) But when I go to Inventor and go to the Vault tree on the side view, and I choose "Choose properties", I still see the OLD disabled properties and it confuse my colleague's.  Is there a way, or can you make it, so I can HIDE those properties, and also maybe delete those properties, so it will have a clean look.   n.b. The Inventor function « Map folders » allow to map Vault folders in the Designs.ipj file. An « Edit » button allows to browse a new folder. But there is no solution to delete a folder mapping. Please add a « Delete » button to delete a mapping. Please check the attached picture. When I do a search in Vault sometime I get a result of hundreds or thousands files, I then have to keep hitting the More button I until Vault shows me all the files it found.   What I would love is a Show All button.  When I click on the this button, Vault will then display all the files it found.   I know that this can take some time for it to finish but it's better than me sitting there hit More over and over again. Idea Summary: Enhance the Vault Data Standard Add-In for Inventor so users can edit and assign properties to multiple parts or subassemblies at once, using a table-like interface similar to Excel.   Problem Description: When working with large, nested assemblies that include many parts and subassemblies, managing file properties (iProperties / Vault properties) one by one is extremely time-consuming. Currently, Data Standard only allows editing a single file at a time — which means repeating the same process dozens or hundreds of times for every component in a complex model. This limitation slows down workflows and increases the risk of inconsistent metadata across a project.   Proposed Solution: Add a multi-file property editor within the Data Standard Add-In that allows: Viewing all related files (parts and subassemblies) in a grid/table view. Editing and assigning properties for multiple selected components simultaneously. Copying and pasting property values across rows, similar to Excel. Applying predefined templates or rules to several files in one step. Validating changes with existing Data Standard rules before committing them to Vault.     Show More

The duplicate search function is fantastic and it is fine if you have Inventor and can run it. Since the information is there and indexed, how hard would it be to add this on a tab along with where used/uses information on the Preview Pane? Or at least make it available so we can access it from the API.   By the nature of our bespoke machine design process we end up with a lot of physically duplicate parts. This is fine for our local in house manufacturing because our systems are automated to take care of this and it is more economic to not have to worry if a part will change when the parameter file or iLogic changes it, especially if the machine is in the early stages of development. Our European branch however outsources their manufacturing and we could save some costs by re-issuing a job with reference to the previous identical part. They will naturally want to automate this, but one step at a time.   We do have a standardization procedure and a different numbering scheme to easily identify them. Another feature that would benefit us would be adding the duplicate search to copy design. We could search on what we have set to copy in the assembly before we copy and be able to swap out parts rather than to copy them.  Show More

The new trash bin looks good at first. But we really need an option to search for documents in there! Case 1: User A has deleted a file called “123.ipt” to the trash bin. User B tries to create a new file with the same name. And gets the message “File name already exists”. But User B has no chance to find the deleted file and gets stuck. Case 2: A file called “123.pdf” was deleted to the trash bin. Now a job is run that tries to create a new “123.pdf”. And gets stuck of course! We urgently need the possibility to search for files in the trash bin. For manual searches you could put in a check box right beside the “Search only last versions” option. But even more important is the possibility to search via API for all things scripting related. Show More

I wanted to hate it, being a Vault proponent. But it's really good, they have nailed what data management for the end user should be like.    Data Standard goes some way towards improving that for CAD users, and frankly could be molded to very closely match the M-Files setup at the front end. But Vault is lacking some of the back end M-Files has, since it uses a different approach. Any way, what set it apart most clearly from Vault was a form based UI everytime an Office user created a new document. It asked a series of questions and requested input of values into properties before the user could start to build their new document.   There were two approaches; Create a new file using M-Files within Word, or Save a normal Word file to the M-FIles drive in My Computer.    Either way the M-Files form appears.    This is almost identical to the way Data Standard works in AutoCAD and Inventor. It would be really good to see this functionality extended into Office as part of Vault Office, Workgroup & Professional. Then non-CAD users can be sold Vault solutions instead of needing to purchase an additional SQL based document management system for the rest of the company.   Often management can relate to needing a document management system, but fail to understand or balk at the costs associated with getting one for their Design / Engineering departments. This type of functionality would be a door opener for increasing the number of companies moving from Vault Basic to WG / Pro or even buying it from the outset.     Show More

Hello,    currently, it is not possible to check in the file directly into Vault when exporting RVT in Inventor. Workarounds must be created to check in the RVT into Vault afterwards. Users want a consistent presentation of information across Vault environments. Example: On the Vault Client, the information about "Has Model State" is displayed as an icon. = Good! On the Web Client, the information about "Has Model State" is displayed as the text "True / False." In addition, the column header in the web client is filled with the text "Has model state"; in the Vault Client, only an icon is displayed, which is completely sufficient from the user's point of view. I would like to be able to configure Thin Client differently between replicated sites.   We use a Vault in full replication across multiple sites, and it would be great as an administrator to be able to choose whether the basic settings are different or identical between Subscriber sites.   For example, if a user connects to a subscriber's Thin Client, they will only see the released versions, whereas if they connect to another subscriber, they will see all versions of the files.   https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/vault-forum/different-thin-client-settings-for-each-replicated-site/m-p/13883854#M52032 Show More
