Hi
Jeff:
Add my name to the list of surveyors who wonder when Civil will
have _anything_ for them beyond (yet another) learning curve. Here's how it
used to look in Land Desktop (almost) out of the
box:
Hi Jeff,
I, too, have been wanting to modify the stock report. What is the file that needs to be modified?
I'm in C3D 2011.
Thanks,
Paul
Hi Paul,
The VB.NET solution for the .NET reports is located here:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2011\enu\Data\Reports\Net\Source
The ParcelMapCheck code is in:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2011\enu\Data\Reports\Net\Source\C3DReports\Parcel
It's been long enough ago that I don't recall exactly what I edited, or what it was edited to. Due to the overall lack of construction around here, I haven't needed to update my report code since C3D2010.... I'll see if I can find the older code I updated tonight. It should still be on my old laptop.
I'd be interested.
Suggestion: keep the segment number at the beginning of each line, that is actually helpfull if you are checking closures for one large parcel/easement.
I really like how you have everything in one line. Are all the excess lines/returns taken out of the resultant saved text file as well? I always have to delete those in order to not kill a tree when I submit.
Ian & Paul (and anyone else interested),
Attached is a zip file with new report and associated resource DLL's for C3D versions 2010 - 2012. They all have been renamed so as not to conflict with the existing reports. First, unblock the ZIP file when you download it (right-click the file you save, properties, near the bottom of the first tab should be an Unblock button). Then save the 2 dll's for your version located in the zip to the same folder as the existing report dll's...for 2011 it is here: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2011\enu\Data\Reports\Net
Then in C3D edit the target for the Parcel Map Check Report in reports manager to point to the C3DReports_JMM.dll
Ian, in this version I added an option to include the Segment Number or not.
Thanks Jeff. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Thanks Jeff!
The report looks good. However, the Delta is not in the right format. I need DDMMSS.
Thanks again!
Jeff,
I have been following your input for a while and am intrested in a solution to the very enviromentally brown report output from the standard MapCheck report. It is sad that we as users of the surveying functions cannot convince Autodesk they need to step back to Civil 2004 and recreate or emulate the MapCheck report from that version. I had pretty much given up on finding a solution and was pleasently supprised when you offered your efforts to all, it is commendable that you are sharing your efforts and it is much appreciated.
I tried your DLL's, they do not seem to want to execute in either C3D 2010 or 2012. The first time they are tried a failure to execute error screen appears, after that the programs defaults back to the prepackaged DLL. Not sure what is goin on but it is interesting that your routines are about 1/10 the size of the original Autodesk versions, could there be an error in the ZIP file? Of course there is always the possibility of operator error........

Thanks for the kind words, Rich. As to why it's not working for you....first, did you make sure to unblock the ZIP file after downloading it?
If that is not the issue, are you saving the dll to a network drive? If so, you must move it to a local drive as .NET doesn't like things being run from a remote location (this is a MS security issue, not Autodesk).
Also, looks like I messed up the instructions I posted a few weeks ago:
"Then in C3D edit the target for the Parcel Map Check Report in reports manager to point to the C3DReports_JMM.dll" should read:
"Then in C3D edit the target for the Parcel Map Check Report in reports manager to point to the C3DReports_2012.dll (or whichever version you are using)"
My DLL's are smaller because I don't include code for all of the other reports.
Jeff,
Thank you for the reply, tried the Unblock to no avail. Looks like I may have some network security issues that I will have our IT person look at.
Thanks for your help.
Rich
