I tried all the suggestions and my settings are correct. It still doesnt seem to be working. Ive attatched a drawing which I drew an arc using halfwidth starting at 0 and ending at 15.

It's solid but when I measure the thickest area it's 30 and not 15 like I entered

Ok, wrong topic.

I can't tell you why, it's a glitch with the program.

Polyline in your drawing looks like it should look. If halfwidth is 15, than width will be 15*2=30.
"Halfwidth - Specifies the width from the center of a wide polyline segment to one of its edges."
AutoCAD can not draw polylines with halfwidth,"Halfwidth" is only one of the options in polyline creation (seems to be legacy one)

Check the help file for pline, then halfwidth. Halfwidth doesn't mean what you think it means. Think of it in terms of the dline command where you are drawing the center line and the two lines are offset to either side by the distance you specify, which is half the width of the distance from outside line to outside line.

How do you get ride of the halfwidth function?  I accidentally clicked on it and now the polyline function is not working normally....

Just give it any half-width, and Enter at the prompt about the ending half-width, and it will go back to the regular prompt, where you can simply choose the Width option instead, and it will override your half-width setting.
