Elevation issues

Good afternoon,

I have been having an issue with the trim/extend command and elevation since working on projects in a new office.

Often getting the 'Objects do not intersect an edge' response.

I am finding that within some drawings polylines regularly move from zero on the Z axis; most often when I copy information from other 2D dwg files (we only work in 2D). In the past I would simply qselect all polylines and change their value from *varies back to zero, regen and they would then intersect. Quite often though, even after carrying out this task the plines still will not meet.

Do you have any advice to resolve this and stop the Z value changing from zero in the first place!?

Thanks

Stuart

I have tried the Move, 1e99 method but 9/10 half the lines disappear.

Also forgot to mention we are using LT in the office so no Flatten command.

You could try setting the ELEVATION system variable to a value of zero and also set OSNAPZ to a value of 1.

Scratch that... since you are using LT.
