Hi all,
Upon selecting several layers in the Layer Properties Manager, then trying to say... freeze the selected layers, THEN turn the selected layers off, the Layer Properties Manager will lose the previous selection before you can do the second icon press. This necessitates the user to having to select the entire layer selection all over again. It was not like this in previous versions.
Can someone with AutoCad 2015 check to see if this is the case with their installation?
Thanks guys.

I initially thought this was working correctly for me, but when I open a drawing with a lot of layers and try to select 10+ layers at a time, I have the same problem you are describing. Also using vanilla AutoCAD 2015.
My guess: this may have something to do with a bug in the "natural sort" layer sorting.
Changing the SORTORDER variable did not fix it for me. It's possible it is still related and they just made changes to it in 2015. I don't remember 2014 having this layer issue.
Are you still not experiencing this problem even if you select more than 9 layers?
Still experiencing this. Not clicking at anything other than 'lightbulb' and 'snowflake' icons.
I have about 30 layers or more. Not scrolling between selections.
It happened when I made a selection of around 10 layers, then inverted the selection by right-clicking. Now about 20+ layers were selected. (I do this as a kinda shortcut sometimes, to isolate all the 3D layers for instance. Making selection presets would be pointless as I am adding new layers all the time). Then I try to freeze and turn them off as explained above. Selection is deselected after the first icon click.
It should be noted that I am only currently using an on-board Intel HD P3000 iGPU with hardware acceleration turned on. I have to do this as Autodesk / Nvidia have seemingly not finished updating a driver for the GTX760 yet. 😕
I suspect a lot of the weirdness in my 2015 installation could be stemming from the fact I'm stuck using a weak display adapter.

My question was actually for Dean. I was just curious if he tested selecting more than 9 layers and, if so, if the bug showed up for him after all.

I can confirm the same behavior anytime a layer filter is applied... but it's not just 2015, I see the same behavior all the way back to AutoCAD 2011
It still happens for me in AutoCAD 2015 without layer filters.
Same here, no filter applied.
I have the Layer Manager docked to the side of the screen, minimised.
I go over and pick my 3d drawing layers, about 10 or more.
Then right-click and invert the selection so it selects the non-3d drawing layers.
Then I click the lightbulb to turn them off, and it loses the selection after applying the change.
No time to select the second 'snowflake' icon, the selection is reset... I need to select my selection again.
I have logged this behaviour with a bug submission here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=1109794
Please do the same, the more submissions the better.
Thanks 🙂

Inverting a selection is a "filter"
I learn something every day, cheers.

It still happens to me without inverting the selection or applying any other filters. I open a new drawing, hit the New Layer button a bunch of times until I have more than 10 layers, select at least 10 layers, and then try to modify more than one property but they are still de-selecting after making the first property change.
I've also reported this to Autodesk feedback.
OK, I can confirm that all recent versions lose "Filtered" Layer selections, but 2015 also does not retain layer selections in the same way previous versions did. (Sorry for doubting you, darawork)
I have always done reversed 'filtered' selections like in the process I stated. I remember clearly doing it in AutoCad 2000 when teaching someone.
What I find strange is that I didn't notice it not working in 2014, I'm sure I would have noticed. It's just something I always do in AutoCad.
Thanks for the video though, at least I now know that I'm not going totally crazy.

I have just installed AutoCAD 2015 on all the machines in our office (15 total with 3 desktops and the rest on laptops) and this issue is happening with one of the laptops.
I have been having a lot of small issues with 2015 and it is so frustrating when it happens to one but not another!
Interesting. I wonder if this is yet another graphics card driver issue. What graphics cards do you have in those machines? Does the laptop with the problem have a different card than the other laptops?
Yeah, that's weird, I lose the selection in 2015 whether on my aging laptop with a now unsupported Quadro, or my new desktop with "Certified" card and "certified" driver. If anything, I'm thinking a mouse or OS setting.
