Installed Vault 2012 SP1 on vault server without issue, but when installing the client version, we're getting this:
It's occuring at this point:
UAC off
Windows updates installed
Antivirus disabled
What should we try next?
Thanks.

Hi Energymech,
We found in another case that this is a different problem than the erorr with the "Connectivity.Branding.Vault.dll" and not as widespread. ie we are not getting as many reports of this issue
After, uninstalling Vault Professinoal 2012 and AutoCAD Mechanical 2012, deleting their respective C:\Program Files folders and reinstalling them, it was possible to re-apply Vault 2012 Update 1 successfully. So can you try that to see if works? We are still looking into that but this might be the quickest solution for you.
Richard,
You deserve a huge raise and promotion for your fix by providing that attachment! If fixed my client installation and now we can access the Vault! Thanks a ton!!!
We are having this exact same issue. Autodesk recommended we rename the config.msi folder to config1.msi and then retry the update 1. No worky! The fact that we've had to live with a buggy Vault install from day one where we get "missing file reference" errors every time we move files in the vault is ridiculous. Now that Update 1 comes out to fix the bug, when I try to install I am now dead in the water. NO ONE CAN USE VAULT.
This is unacceptable!
I replied too soon before I read thru the entire thread. I replaced the file Richard suggested with his attachment and am now able to install the update. Thanks to Richard for this quick fix!
This update should be pulled immediately and replaced with a working copy. Still ticked I have to read a three page thread, download a DLL and hack my installation to install a simple update from a company as large and respected as Autodesk.....
Chris
I agree with you Chris! Autodesk needs to pull the update until it is fixed instead of just putting on notice that they are aware of the problem and are working on solution.
As a side Note, after you install the update on each client workstation, be sure to open your Autodesk Data Management Console on the Server and migrate your database. You will be prompted to do this when your console opens and it will take approximately 20-30 minutes to do. Your workstations will not be able to access the Vault until this is completed. Just a friendly reminder for ya since I freaked out as well when my entire company couldn't access our Vault.
Any idea when the fixed Update 1 (Client) will be posted? It's been 18 days now. I've got 29 licenses to install it on so I'd like to get moving on this.

So, I have tried everything on the list short of uninstalling and re-installing Inventor Pro 2012 to get SP1 to load. I am having crashing issues with the base software. I keep getting the error 1328 during the install. I have replaced the dll file as directed.
Please, for the love of god, tell me what I have to do to fix this. Since the Vault 2012 install has migrated the files over, I am out of options.
I am running a Dell Precision T3500 with Windows 7 pro 64 bit. I have 16 gigs of ram.

Are you trying to install Inventor 2012 SP1 or Vault 2012 Update 1? This thread is for Vault and I have had 100% success using the supplied DLL hack.
On a side note, I noticed today in a separate deployment that clients on 32 bit XP Pro DID NOT need the DLL to install Vault 2012 Update 1. Interesting. I also noticed that the Autodesk Install Media (USB drives) are flakey as hell, and totally unreliable, as is the deployment wizard. I am seriously disappointed with the "quality" of this release, the deployment media and the deployment tools.
Most of the time we end up resorting to re-downloading the installation files from Autodesk Subscription Center which defeats the purpose of asking for Install media. Oh ya, and when you download, for some reason they separate the files into 32bit and 64 bit instead of combining like on the USB's. How convenient to have to download all over again if you have one or two 32bit clients....

Sorry, I think that I may have posted to the wrong DG. Although the SP1 is for Inventor 2012, I think that the SP1 works for both. Desperate times call for desperate means and this is one of those times. I waited for the first service pack to come out before I did the installation, and boy has it bitten me in the ****. The software crashed before I had a chance to open any of my drawings that I had to migrate to 2012.
Autodesk’s answer, install the service pack. Unfortunately, the SP1 will not install. I am so pissed off right now, that I could spit nails.
Thanks for your response though.

About time..... Now if they would just turn some much needed attention to the buggy POS deployment wizard....
Chris
Don't get too excited. The files in the zip file haven't been updated.
Bob
I was just at the Autodesk site for something else and noticed this. Looks like the files were updated today too? Last picture posted showed 11/15 now I see 11/17 so were you looking at the files contained in the 11/17 version?
Yes, it was the November 17 version.

Hi All,
I just wanted to share our findings so far regarding this issue. Our investigations with customers reporting this issue to us directly have revealed that this appears to only be occuring on plain Vault 2012 clients installed from the Product Desgin Suites and Factory Design Suites. There are reports of different install issues with higher versions of Vault but these concern different dlls and are considered to have a much lower impact. We've worked around those other install issues when they have been reported to us.
So this issue affects a smaller subset of users meaning that pulling the update would prevent Vault Workgroup users and above of the benefits of the Update. Releasing a second update 1 would also result in a two tiered patch level for users who may have installed the patch already from sources other than PDS and FDS. We want to avoid that.
For those still affected by this issue with Update 1, we're still working on delivering a solution to you and we hope to have some good news to share shortly. We appreciate your continued patience and support.
Lastly and hopefully to clear up any confusion, the changed date on the Update 1 for 2012 page observed earlier on this thread, indicates that only the web document changed. Autodesk has not released a new Update 1.
Hello all,
the issue is now checkmarked as solved in the forum.
I want to know how it got solved for the Vault Installations from Suites?
I don´t see any new files on the update page for Vault 2012.
Don´t wanna run into the situation where I can´t roll back to pre Update 1
workpoint.
Thank you
Best wishes
There's a Suites Update (ts18131263) in the Vault downloads section.
Here's the link to ts18131263 that should address this issue.

Not neccessry for us to update since our system as the client and server has not yet upgraded.
We were advised not to upgrade by our Autodesk Support due to issue with the update.
Do you think that is okay?
Thank you,
ral
