It would be good to offer automatic plugin updates, as there has been a number of times now where we have came across issues that resort to us using older plugin builds and recently we have seen a number of updates to the plugins in very close succession. If this was done automatically we wouldn't come across such issues.

It would be great if the plugin checks its version against the Webapp each time it launches. If a mismatch is detected, the plugin should notify users that their version is outdated. Ideally, this notification would include a link to download the updated plugin or ideally a button that initiates the download in the background. Once the download is complete, the system could prompt users to install the update.
