temperature input into creep material

Dear all,

I am doing a non-linear creep analysis of material using Autodesk mechanical. Here I first do a static heat transfer analysis and next, a MES with non-linear material models. For the MES, I used the temperature gradient from the static heat transfer analysis and used the thermal visco-elastic material model. But when I run the MES analysis, the error pops up "temperature outside input range in creep material property calculation. Please check your temperature data input." I have tried several times myself by inputting the maximum and minimum temperatures of the static heat transfer analysis, but unfortunately failed to solve the issue.

It would be realy great and helpful, if someone can give me an advice to solve this problem.

Can anyone please also tell me how to upload the FEM files in this forum, as I am a new user of Autodesk mechanical!!

Thanks and with best regards,

Zahid

Hi Zahid,

I suggest trying a minimum temperature for the material properties much lower than the expected minimum temperature, and a maximum temperature for the material properties much higher than the expected maximum temperature. During the iteration process, the solver can sometimes extrapolate to temperatures beyond the temperatures from the thermal analysis. If the extrapolated temperature is outside the range of temperatures in the material properties, then the solution will stop.

Also, check the load curve that is assigned to the heat transfer results. The temperature at any time t will equal the temperature results from the thermal analysis multiplied by the load curve multiplier.

The last thing that comes to mind is to attach an archive of your model, and perhaps someone will take a look at it. See "Create, Post, or Provide an Archive of your model".
