Filter Overwrites for Legends

To add to the long standing wish to be able to tag families in legend views it would also be very useful to be able to apply filter overwrites.

That would save us quite a bit of time for Slab/ Wall setdown plans.

Also you would get the piece of mind that the legend colours and plan colours do always match up as long as the same view template has been assigned.

Currently having to do the phasing workaround is a nuisance:

What seems strange to me is that they didn't even bother to disable or hide the Filter tab from the Legend's V/G dialog! You can still create a Filter, add it to the Legend, set overrides, then watch as nothing happens... 🙂

Amazed this hasn't got more votes.

Legends really need some work to bring them up to speed with the rest of Revit.

We have walls coloured for clarity but can't easily create a Legend to indicate that!

For goodness sake Autodesk do this.

Filters allow you to highlight different elements of your drawings by particular parameters/qualities

Legends allow you to provide a key to identify what it is you are highlighting

Legend components allow you to bring in the elements you are identifying in to that key.

But... then you can't apply the same highlight characteristics to them... I mean, it's a bit of an obvious flaw isn't it?

Legends are much reduced in usefulness by not being able to apply filters.

Moreover : make button "Override host layers" not grayed out.

In fact, every visibility options we have in our view templates.

Another vote to allow filters to be applied to legends, it would be very helpful.

Surely this is easy to implement. If you can't add filters to a legend, it removes some of the benefit of using filters.
