How to make an imported jpg/png half-transparent?

Hello,

I wonder if it is possible in Revit to make the imported image half-transparent?

I import the plan which I only have in .jpg and I need to have it in the background only little visible as it makes hard to build on it.

Just like using images in Autocad - first you make it less visible and then you draw.

Thanks!

Hello from Spain
You can bring the image to the foreground or send it to the background, but in revit as far as I know, there is not posible to adjust the transparency.

I'm with @amorap on this. Try to open the picture in Photoshop and adjust the transparency. If I remember rightly, you will need to save it to a TIFF to preserve the transparency.

Raster transparency doesn't work in Revit.  Once the image is in Revit, transparency is gone.

And Revit can't import vector graphics from Illustrator. Rats. It was a great thought while it lasted! Apologies to the OP for attempting to lead him in the wrong direction.

So an image can't be faded / greyed out either?

There is no such adjustments for images in Revit per se.  But you can place a semi-transparent masking/filled region over the image to screen it.

This works while in Revit, but it does not preserve the transparency when you try to print. It's really frustrating when you want to print something to sketch over.    DEAR AUTODESK. PLEASE FIX THESE SIMPLE QUALITY OF LIFE ENHANCEMENTS THAT WE HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR YEARS ABOUT THAT ALWAYS GET IGNORED IN FAVOR OF SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T MATTER. WE DO NOT NEED ANYTHING NEW WE JUST NEED TO FIX WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE PLEASE
