Cursor Jump to Project Browser While Switching between Projects

Dear API Community,

While I switch between projects, the cursor jumps to the Project browser/Properties palette.

I manage to find why. It is because of the mouse settings.
While I set the mouse cursor to "Automatically move the pointer to the default button in a dialog box, the cursor starts to behave in this way.

If I uncheck it, it works normally.

I believe this might be a bug.

Anyway, if anyone got a solution to fix this, kindly advise me.

Because it's quite annoying and the screen got a major jerk.

I attached a video to have better clarity on the issue.

Dear Radish,

Thank you for your query.

I do not see why you submitted this to the Revit API forum, though.

Are you observing this behaviour in your own add-in, or in the built-in Revit functionality?

In the former case, can you not fix the problem yourself?

In the latter case, please note that this discussion forum is dedicated to programming Revit using the Revit API.

Therefore, you cannot expect an answer to a question such as yours relating to installation, product usage or end user support issues here.

You should try one of the non-API Revit product support discussion forums instead for that:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-api-forum/this-forum-is-for-revit-api-programming-questions-not...

The people there are much better equipped to answer your question than us programming nerds.

I hope this clarifies.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Best regards,

Jeremy

Dear Radish,

Thank you for your update to the private ADN case 15461952 [Cursor Jump to Project Browser While Switching between Projects] that was generated from this thread.

However, please let us continue discussing this here in the public forum for all to see and contribute to.

I always prefer discussing everything in public, when possible, and enabling the entire community to contribute and share:

http://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/blog/about-the-author.html#1

That has several advantages: the entire team sees the issue, peers can join in and help, and the conversation becomes visible to others, to help them resolve their issues as well.

I think you misunderstood my point:

When I wondered why you submitted this to the Revit API forum, the question was: is this an API issue at all, or not?

If not, it should better be discussed in the public Revit Architecture forum instead, where the product support experts can help you with end user issues.

I repeat my question:

Are you observing this behaviour in your own add-in, or in the built-in Revit functionality?

Best regards,

Jeremy

Hi @jeremytammik,

Thank you for your reply.

I post this issue in the API forum, I believe this is something to do with the code between Revit & Windows.

And you guys (API) superstars in the programming, that's why I thought this will be the right place to post.

As per your advice, I will post this in the Revit Archi Forum.

Thank you for your advise & guidance.

Dear @jeremytammik,

Sorry, I forgot to answer your question.

Q: Are you observing this behaviour in your own add-in, or in the built-in Revit functionality?

A: No, I just experience this in the Revit Window while switching between two projects.

Please watch the attached video to get more clarity.

Yes, then, if it is in the native Revit product and not in your own add-in, the Revit Architecture forum is definitely the right place to discuss this.
