Customer requirement: In the cooling analysis, the results show that the local temperature of the product is too high. In the future, the software can automatically optimize the water channels layout, making the temperature distribution of the product uniform. Through parameterized control, including automatic optimization of water channels diameter, length, and distance. Customer demand: We hope that the Moldflow software can achieve this function, or we can see if there are future plans for research and development in this area.

We are actively looking at doing something in this area. It's too early to know where this is going to land but some of the initial work looks promising.

Today, Moldflow 2025 was made available (link to the announcement here). One of the main capabilities is the Cooling channel optimization. This does not vary everything (cooling channel design, channel diameter, coolant temperature or coolant flow rate all at the same time) but I hope this provides a good path forward. This is a first step with additional steps planned.

Phase 1 (for 3D printed cores) is implemented. Other manufacturing methods (e.g. drill and plug) are still to be done.
