Inventor Nastran 2025.0 has been released. This is my list of changes that I believe are important to users, taken from various sources.

To install the update, go to manage.autodesk.com and click “All Product and Services” on the left. Version 2025.0 is a new version to be installed after installing Inventor 2025.

Item

Change in version 2025.0

1

Added the command “Mesh > Mesh Troubleshooter”. If the model fails to mesh, use the Mesh Troubleshooter to help identify where the mesh is failing. See Autodesk Inventor Nastran 2025 Help | Mesh Troubleshooter | Autodesk.

2

Corrected an issue where the contact results in an explicit analysis depended on the order of the parts and contact in the Nastran file. Explicit analyses include explicit dynamics and explicit quasi-static. (The order of the parts and contact in the Nastran file is controlled by Inventor Nastran, not the user.)

3

The contact forces for bonded contact were incorrectly reported as zero when separation contact existed in the model. This occurred in a linear static analysis but not nonlinear static.

4

The parameter EnhcContactRslt will be interpreted as ON when set to AUTO. (This parameter and setting will include the contact at midside nodes.)

5

If the contact is defined properly but the contact data cannot be written to the Nastran file, a warning is given when generating the Nastran file. (“Defined properly” means there is no warning badge beside the contact pair in the Model Tree to indicate the contact definition has a problem.) If the contact definition is bad, no warning is given when generating the Nastran file, and a T2038 error may still occur when running the analysis. (The T2038 error is related to data missing from the contact in the Nastran file which is indicated by the warning badge on the contact in the Model Tree.)

6

Fixed a crash when Mesh Generation was cancelled from the Mesh Table.

7

Fixed a crash when generating a report while using French.

8

Multiple analyses can be selected and deleted.

9

Added or updated the units displayed when viewing the results for Fatigue, Heat Flow, Contact Force Total, and Beam Diagram results.

10

New tooltips show a snapshot of the input for connectors.

11

The Mesh Table lists the parts in the same order as displayed in the Model Tree.

12

Right-click on “Part/Assembly > Expand All” at the top of the Model Tree only expands the part/assembly branch. Right-click “Model > Expand All” will expand the Model branch.

13

The default selection type for the load “Rigid Motion (Explicit)” and constraint “Rigid (Explicit)” is now Body.

14

The default selection type for the load “Initial Condition” is now Body.

15

Added a new warning T2350 if the yield point in a nonlinear material’s plasticity table (TABLES1) is inconsistent with the entered yield stress (MATS1).

16

Fixed issue when using right-click on Part (or Assembly) at the top of the Model Tree “> Tree Options > OK”. Inactive analyses will no longer be expanded.
