Split Feature Distance

Split Feature Distance

Right now the split feature reads the "Tool" as a plane (meaning there is no start or beginning of the "Tool"). This can cause issues if I am just wanting to split one portion of the solid body. There should be an option or way to say you want to treat the "Tool" as a plane (no start or end) or a line (defined start and end).
For example, if I have a pipe that I did a sweep to get the overall path. Then I draw a line where I want to split the pipe (at the miter location). Once I select that line as the "Tool" it actually reads it as a plane and splits everything that it would intersect.

Thicken (new body mode) + Combine (cut mode & save old body option).

No sketches; no workplanes; no split; no stress.

It works.

Ich mache z.B. eine Extrusion als Fläche. Dann kann ich nur einen Teil des Rohres trennen.

My workaround is to create a flat surface body with the limited extents required (same as dieter's comment). I can also extend this to non-flat surface bodies to do more complicated splits.
