Hi Guys,   One source of frustration (albeit, very minor) is having to constantly re-size the "File Open" dialog box.   If you have many "Frequently Used Folders" set up, resizing this dialog box every time you start Inventor just becomes irritating.   Can you guys make an option for, or have Inventor remember, resizing and retaining the size of a re-sized File Open dialog box. There should be an option to sort your open files (tabs), or group them by type (IPT/IDW/IAM etc). Sometimes you end up with a lot of open files, and have both part and associated drawing open, but they're scattered all over... The Home view is (at least in my case) always cluttered with parts, drawings and assemblies. I prefer only seeing the assemblies, but I always have to run the filter as it resets after every restart. Please add a "Set as Default filter" at the bottom of the menu.    Here's a mockup:     Show More

For the sake of time savings, please make tube and pipe routings follow the standard feature browser visibility. Specifically, please make hidden tube and pipe routes change to light grey shade within the feature browser, so that is is easy to discern which ones have already been hidden, and which ones have not. Whenever the engineer desires to simply replace a component within an assembly, he/she is required to use the Windows file-open UI to drill down through multiple network drive folders just to get to the actual part to replace with. As you can see, this is mind-numbingly time consuming. The easy solution is to simply add an "In Session" folder to the UI as shown, which would allow the selection of components currently open and in session. Show More

Add the same thing as Fusion: shortcut menu. I know we have a radial menu, but Fusion has it too, and it works very well. And if you want to keep the "s" shortcut for sketch, keep it ! but give to other the possibility to have this, even on other key shortcut.         Show More

Several times a month, I am troubleshooting (2022) application "freezes" because a modal window appears somewhere not visible to the user.  This can be resolved on a case-by-case basis, but it's a multi-step "game hack" type of solution: Alt+Space, M for move, arrow key, and drag cursor.  A single command in Inventor to reset the location of all modal windows would help both in preventing and resolving this scenario, which is likely caused by moving between work areas (i.e., home, office, remote office, etc.).  If this is not feasible, perhaps modal windows can be made to appear in the taskbar to indicate they exist. As it stands, if the Inventor user wants to flip the view direction of an already defined section view in their part/assembly model, he/she must first delete the pre-existing section view, and then redefine the same section view, albeit with the viewing direction flipped. Wow, that's a whole lot of work that could be easily alleviated with a simple 'Flip View' option under the existing section view drop-down menu in the GUI. Sometimes I make very complex models with a long design history. Such a separator would have two functions: Separation of individual modeling phases. Typically, entire sets of commands apply to a specific modeling stage (or solid). This would make it easier to find the right operations when you need to edit. Minimizing a set of operations. Can you add an option to the open/save dialog box to have shortcuts to folder paths. It's quite annoying to have to click down a path of folders every time I want to open / place / or save a file.   Show More

I'm about a step away from just using the inventor library and coding it, but I really feel like this should be a base option. If the Parameters window was a dockable window, and you could place it right beneath the Model or as a side-by-side to your CAD file instead of it being a floating window, changing parameters would be so much quicker. It also makes it easier to reference the names of each parameter. Show More

Here I am again with another idea you super smart folks haven't thought of. Actually, it's not my idea, it's stolen from all the other CAD packages.   If you place a component, you have to manually find the parts you're looking for, by scrolling, or typing the first letter of the part name.   Imagine you know you made a part, but you can't exactly remember how you named it. Or you made a part, but all your parts have the same prefix in the name. Imagine you have a couple hundred parts in a folder.   Imagine if there would be a search bar to quickly find what you're looking for. Exactly, the same simple search function windows uses for decades. I would like to be able to lock the top end of the browser to be locked so that I have my view representations and model states always visible as I use them a lot and don't want to scroll up each time I need to use it. See image below Show More

The colors for preselection Highlight and selection are set in the document settings.  Since neither of these things impact the final drawing product and impacts the individual user (color blind), the setting should be moved Application options.  They should be added to the color schemes.  If there is a reason from some have this in the document settings the provide an option to have application options override the document settings.   Current document settings dialog: Move to color scheme for editing:      Show More
