Having suffered through a few weeks of using Solidworks, their "Slot" constraint (mate) is very nice. Suggest similar for Inventor.

This concept should be possible to do with all geometry...

Constrain something to the middle between two planes, something like the symmetry constraint, (but with this you cant select the same part)

Hi Guys,

This function has been already implemented into Inventor for many years, just use the joint command instead of constrain.

Yeah, quite hard to hit the right spot, got it right after 30 seconds, and did not know why I succeeded 😉
I see the centermark light up, but is unable to make it stick...

Much easier to use the tool we have and is used to...

No. Its easy. First select the point of the bolt, then move the cursor above the planar face containing the slot (dont click yet). Hold down the Ctrl and dont release it (it fix the face selection). Select the midpoint of the slot and click. Release the control. Select the slider type and if the direction is not correct then modify the direction with the align selection. You can also set the limits (+/-).

Yeah, actually super easy with the Ctrl method, seams you only have to select anywhere on the surface 🙂

Reminds me of the hidden ALT-insert-drag thing 🙂

4-5 inputs from user with Joint method.

6 inputs with my suggestion, however switching between Joint and Constrains is quite annoying.
