The chamfer command should give us the option to put in how long we want the chamfer instead of assuming that we want the chamfer to go the entire length of the part.
I also have this problem with concrete floor slabs that need a chamfer all round except where two panels join together at one edge. I've found a work around but it is not very elegant.
@dan_szymanski, I know only chamfers are mentioned in this thread, but are fillets by close relation included in the Accepted idea? (see this request: extention limits for fillet)
@DRoam, I recognize these two features are close relatives, however to Developers they are seperate areas of code. As such, they are tracked as seperate requests. As such, it would be good to get some more votes attached to the aforementioned Idea. Our bigger request in the area of Fillets is currently: Add a "Negative" radius for clearance. Thanks! -Dan
In that case, for any who would like to see the same "defined length" functionality added for fillets, please consider giving a vote to this Idea: extention limits for fillet
That might warrant a separate Idea since we never supported patterning for single edge chamfers. Patterning a partial chamfer makes a lot more sense to me. Simply my 2 cents. Thanks. -Dan
Chamfers can't be patterned or mirrored, but fillets can. This idea would get us on the right track to fix that inconsistency (as well as several others), and pave the way for a lot of extra powerful functionality, too: Combine the fillet and chamfer tools.
Thanks for adding Partial Chamfers. Could you please allow the dialog box to be resized? It is inconvenient to use scroll to see all the columns. The resized column widths are reset when you next use the command.
