New for InfraWorks 2022.0 we have a whole new Model Builder experience to share with you. Please watch the video at the bottom for a quick introduction.

This new experience will not just be available for the new 2022.0 release, but will also be available to all supported versions of InfraWorks. At this time that includes:

  • 2019.3
  • 2020.2
  • 2021.0
  • 2021.1
  • 2021.2

Support for 2019.3 will be coming in the next few weeks, and I would like clarify for the users still using this version. 2019.3 had the ability to select a BIM360 folder from within Model Builder, and save it directly to that folder upon creation. With the introduction of this new UI, the BIM360 selection will be removed. To save a created model builder model to BIM360, you will have to create the model, download, then upload to your desired BIM360 location. If you have any questions of concerns on this, please let us know.

I would like to quickly note that all source data Open Street Maps, and Terrain data is the same as it was with the old User Interface. Nothing has changed on this front. The original scope of this effort was to improve our codebase and resiliency of the Model Builder service. During the course of this work we had an opportunity to streamline the Model Builder experience for minimal additional effort, so we took that opportunity to make that improvement to your experience.

As always, thanks for watching and please let us know if you have any feedback on this new workflow!

Hey @SethHall , I don't see the model size anymore in your video. Isn't that presented anymore?

Hi John,

The model size is available for the drawing selection mechanisms (rectangle, polygon, and SHP) in canvas. Map extents are not shown, only allowing sub 200sqkm selections. Do you find this information useful when using map extents?

Ha, right I just noticed the size of the model by looking at the center of your polygon, but was used to have it also in the side screen. Now, it seems lost when you type the name of the model? Yeah, I think this should be available like we always had because size of the model is important to me and it gives me a first view on how large I can create the model from the extents. InfraWorks 2022 just popped up in my Desktop App, so I can have a look at it myself later today.
