Install failed : urlopen error [WinError 10061]

Hi,

Fusion 360 makes me happy : it is very powerful and useful...

I tried to install Fusion 360.

I successed on my computer (windows 8) Smiley Tongue

I successed on another on (Ubuntu 16.04 + VMware), but it's not a good idea : it goes as fast as a snail.

I found an third computer (windows 8), but on this machine installation does'nt work Smiley Embarassed

I need this in such a way as, the first computer is often used by everyone at home...

I put a screencast and the logfile below.

I precise that I'm french (sorry for my english writing) and I'm not so  comfortable with computing.

I hope that someone will help me to understand this issue.

Franck.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 community!

It looks like from your log file that you had a Connection Refused Error. This usually happens when there is a problem with the server Fusion is downloading from. Can you try following the steps in this article under the "If you see "Connection refused" in your error text or log file" section? If that doesn't work you can try working through the suggestions in this other article here

Let me know if you have any questions about this or if you are still unable to instill Fusion 360!

Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous,

I think you should try  configuring proxy server and firewall for Fusion 360Access to the online services for Fusion 360 is required, and a proxy server, firewall, or anti-virus software may be interfering with the normal operation. More information here. Once you do this, please reinstall Fusion 360.

If this still does not work, can you send me a new copy of your webdeploy.streamer.log? Thank you and I hope we can figure this out!

Hi Julia,

thank you for your responce. But Fusion 360 still not be installed.

  • for the time being : on my computer there is only "Fusion 360 Client Downloader"
  • I don't have any proxy for my internet connection.
  • I've authorized my firewall to launch "Fusion 360 Client Downloader"'.

I don't understand...any other idea on your end?

I let the log file as attached file.

Regards and happy new year!

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for the logs! I took another look am I'm still seeing some of the same errors. It's possible that there could be something blocking access to one of the sites needed for Fusion to function. This can appear as a proxy in the logs even though you does not use a proxy, which could be why I'm seeing this. Are you able to run a virus scan on your computer and delete any viruses or malware found? Then hopefully you can install Fusion 360 successfully.

Let me know,

Hi @Anonymous,

Here are some more options:

  • If you have any, can you try temporarily disabling anti-virus software to see if the behavior changes when you launch the installer?
  • Right click on the installer and select Run As Administrator.
  • Perform an uninstall and then install Fusion 360 with a single thread
  • Try connecting to another network, such as using wired connection vs wireless.
  • Check your host name on your computer to make sure it is correct.

Crossing my fingers!

Hi @Anonymous,

Let's have a closer look at your proxy settings, since this is in your logs:

proxy.PNG

Follow these steps and let me know what you see:

  1. Click on the windows icon in the lower left hand corner of your screen
  2. Search Internet Properties
  3. Click "LAN settings"
  4. Is the proxy server box checked?
    internet properties.PNG
If yes, please uncheck and try to reinstall Fusion 360. If no, continue the next steps
  5. Click on the windows icon in the lower left hand corner of your screen
  6. Search command propmt
  7. Type "netsh winhttp show proxy". What does it say?
  8. If there is a proxy, please type "netsh winhttp reset proxy"
  9. Reinstall Fusion 360

Thanks,

Hi Julia,

I'm like a hen in front of a knife (french expression)...

It works! You were right : a proxy connection was activated.

At the beginning I just had a look on my internet browser, I think.

Thank you so much for your help.

I'll tell you when the installation will be finished.

If you have a postal adress, I'll send you chocolate and cheese from Savoie (France)!

Best regards.
