15 Users Reporting - Cannot Renew or Issue Personal Use Subscription

Anonymous
Not applicable

Just trying to aggregate here, at least 15 users have reported being unable to renew or issue a new 1 year personal use subscription this weekend (7/23 to 7/25).

This has nothing to do with downloading the product, some of the users are existing users.

I can provide technical details of the HTTP 500 server side error that I received if anyone cares to have it.

These are the threads reporting the same problem.

Users if you could please reply if you see this post. @dinko.lackovic @Anonymous @Anonymous @rockinriley @inventer8or @Anonymous @sytran @Anonymous @thejermyn @Anonymous @ryanmquigley @fakareid @Anonymous @Anonymous

That's accurate. I have also downloaded a version of the product from that streamer link. Just as others have said it doesn't help me get the hobbyist licence.

In case there is a question, I've tested the form submission from a virtual machine with no antivirus/security software installed, at a location behind a simple home Internet router with no subscription security features, so the issue is not filtering on my side.

I posted a Wireshark capture with the 500 server error that I receive in @inventer8or 's thread here.

Im having the same issue as @dinko.lackovic

Tried:

  • Clearing all browsing data in Chrome: History, cookies, cache.
  • Attempting to register in "privacy mode"
  • Using the browser on my computer I never use: Edge
  • Installing Firefox and trying that
  • Attempting the above from my laptop.
  • Attempting the above from my work computer

In each case, clicking "Next" appears to do something, but ultimately Im left on the same page:

https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal-form?loggedIn=true

Hovering over the "Next" button shows the link:

https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal-form?loggedIn=true#

Ultimately im unable to register/renew the 1 year personal use license.

Hi all,

We are rapidly working on fixing the web page. I will send an update once it is fully functioning again. Apologies for the inconvenience.

In the meantime, if you need to Sign Up or Renew can you send me an email to james.youmatz@autodesk.com including the email address associated with your Autodesk Account? I will manually apply the personal use license.

Thanks,

I was having the same issues where I could not click "Next" after entering my personal information.

I had cleared my cache, history, & cookies. Tried different computers, installed new browsers. No luck.

After reading @daniel_lyall 's post (https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/unable-to-register-for-fusion-360-hobbyist/m-p/104...) I also attempted:

  • Turning off antivirus: No luck
  • Turning off antivirus & firewall:
    • It actually advanced to the next screen: "Download and install Fusion 360". Some progress.
    • Though after clicking the download button I get the error: "Something went wrong when creating your hobbyist license."
  • Turning off antivirus & firewall, and clearing browsing history (again):
    • Everything worked.

It seems a bit "Windows 95" to ask users to remove all protections for some task to work. But I guess "it is what it is".

Hi @raarana ,

Hi all,

We are investigating what may be going on in the Personal sign up form that is causing this. In the meantime, if you are trying to sign up or renew and need access, please email me at james.youmatz@autodesk.com and provide the email address that you use for your Autodesk Account. I will manually grant the personal license while we investigate.

Thank you all for your patience!
