Where to save post?

I have been searching and can't seem to figure out where to save a post in fusion. I found the okuma turning post that I am hoping will work for me on the autodesk site but I just don't know where to save it to, this is probably right in front of my face but I just can't see it.

Jason,

For PC, you can place them anywhere on your PC (don't put them in the generic folder) and direct Fusion to search for them. Follow the numbered balloons in the picture below

For an OS install:  /Users/username/Autodesk/Fusion 360 CAM/Posts

I tried that, I simply save the post (to my desktop) but it doesn't show up when I go to open it (balloon 2 in your previous post).

It won't. Search to the location that you saved it to and click ok. It will appear in the dropdown list (#3)

Maybe I am missing something, I saved the file to a folder, then choose personal posts (#1), choose the folder and click open (#2), stumped with #3 as nothing shows up in post configuration area...

Couple questions:

Is it a .cps file? (I assume so)

Do you have it set to "All" in this picture?

I am downloading it from here http://cam.autodesk.com/posts/ it is the only okuma turning post listed on there, I assume it is the correct file type, I do have the "all" tab selected, I also tried the "turning" one without luck.

I don't know what to say. I just tried it, using the same Okuma post and it showed right up. Consider making a folder on your desktop, put the .cps file in there and search to that folder instead

Thanks for the help, so I closed fusion and reopened it and now it shows up, that is great...next issue is it says installing brackets and it then says unable to install brackets. I try to go back to a different part to post a mill program to one of our Mazaks and it says the same thing, not sure what is going on, I have had no problem posting to that machine ever with fusion.

I guess you have never used brackets before? Perhaps try installing it manually (just Google install brackets). You could untick 'open NC file in editor' and it will just post the program (which you could then open in a program of your choice). Does it work with that unchecked?

Yes it posts either way (editor clicked on or not), I just don't understand what changed today as the editor has always opened fine prior to looking for the Okuma post, maybe a coincidence. I tried to post on my laptop which has always worked fine aswell and it is doing the same thing.

And you were using brackets before? If so, is it still installed and does it open correctly?

Not tried mine today, I'll test it first thing tomorrow to make sure there are no updates which could cause an issue..

Now this is just silly, open fusion again on my laptop and it opens the editor without issue, maybe today is just not my day guys!

I am back on this topic again today, trying to run some parts and the post isn't available for the okuma turning...I think last time when I thought it was working I had actually just clicked on the okuma milling generic post. I simply can not get the post that I have saved to show up in balloon #3 in the above posts. I must be missing something...I save the post from the autodesk site, it is the okuma turning gereic post, i click personal posts and select the fold it is saved in, then nothing, it just does not show up in the selections window. The only ones that show up when you do anything at all with the turning selected are haas, fanuc, heidenham and tormach slant...How do I get this post to show up!!

I am trying this on a couple different computers and no luck, is there a way to check if that okuma post that I am downloading is any good? Maybe that is the problem?
