We have the need to produce a BOM that can have the same item used multiple times at the same level rather than increase the quantity, see below:   Imagine a simple assembly with two children as per fusion can currently produce: Machine Assembly                                                        x1 Bracket                                                                 x2 Plate                                                                     x3 With the above it is only possible to increase the quantity of each item.   What we require is: Machine Assembly                                                        x1 Bracket                                                                 x2 Plate                                                                     x1 Plate                                                                     x1 Plate                                                                     x1   Adding further child items can be included as new lines not increasing the quantity. I’m imagining a toggle (or similar) on the place component dialogue that allows the user to pick either increase quantity (the default option) or add new line item as above. The reason for this is to add extra property information to a BOM view such as location ID’s or similar for the individual components, If the quantities are grouped then this information cannot be accurately maintained. I have seen workarounds that use the grid to maintain this data, but this makes the syncing to ERP and ongoing maintenance of the BOM overly complex. Show More

Do you know how many characters left? In the Field «Single Line Text» and «Paragraph» can be the maximum length of value be set. The characters must be limited, especially when it goes to other systems. In Paragraph, when you add your information you don't know how many characters you have used. As example, if it is limited to 1000 characters, it would be very helpful to have a counter that display the length of your actual text. Refresh-derived fields admin action does not consistently work for all workspaces. This admin feature will consistently fail in larger client workspaces with an unknown error. See the attached graphic for the error encountered. When the refresh-derived fields admin action does not work, we need to reach out to Autodesk to refresh the fields for us, and it generally takes days, if not weeks, for the refresh to be completed. Admin tools, when given, should work consistently, and if they have limitations, the limitation should be clearly stated and known by all that would use them.  Show More

It would be helpful if the Change Log captured selected Picklist values in text format. Recently, due diligence escaped us and we updated a picklist that was already tied to several other workspaces. This change caused significant data loss in these workspaces, and we were unable to reference the Change Log for what the former Picklist value had been. With the Picklist values deleted, the Change Log represented the change as FieldName: <s>Option 2</s> → null [see screenshot]   I submit the Change Log to be updated to capture Picklist values in text format so that they do not appear as "null" when that picklist value is no longer available. @Anonymous    Good morning,  I work within a design company in the UK, within medical device sector.    We have recently introduced Fusion Lifecycle (<3m) as a replacement to an existing eQMS, to support with wider QMS implementation.    One of the challenges we face with adapting to the new system is that as administrators, we cannot default a view for our users. Additionally, when creating new views, we am unable to share these / make public. Whilst we have produced training content and working with teams to support, it is an inefficient approach as the company scales.    Is it possible for the functionality within reporting to be brought across to views, e.g. a report can be private / public / shared with selected users?    With concurrent design projects, it would be a great feature if we could release pre-built views to all members of a project team to support collaboration.   Many thanks Michael  Show More

Currently, the BOM view does not allow to click on a column and sort the BOM based on a specific column.   Since there is no sorting and / or filtering option in BOM view, users need to manually search and look for specific information. This becomes time consuming and problematic for a person who needs to review and / or approve a BOM.
