Holes from 2D PCB don't show up in 3D PCB

As topic says, the holes only are present as a circle in the 3D PCB, not as actual holes.

Here's an example:

Can you check your PCB and see if there is something needs cleanup? For example, if you remove the hole, is there still another circle on dimension layer at the same position? If you share me your PCB file (richard.liu@autodesk.com), I can help to look at what is wrong.

When I delete the hole from the 2D PCB, the yellow circle gets removed from the 3D PCB.

I'll send you the link to the Board file via EMail.

Hi @hackbratenMTTKN ,

I tried your file but didn't see the issue you saw.

Can you click "Edit Board" from the timeline, try to remove the holes from the profiles and see what will happen?

Or you can remove the link to the old 3D PCB and then try to create a new one.

Please let me know if it doesn't help.

Hi Richard,

thanks for your help.

The edit board feature doesnt show me the holes:

Unbenannt.PNGI guess it doesn't show the holes because the board outline was derived from a sketch from another file (also marked in the screenshot)?

Breaking the 3D PCB link gave me the desired result, but now the board outline can't be edited by the sketch it was derived from as theres no derive in the 3D PCB's timeline anymore:

Unbenannt.PNG

So I see a potential bug here with creating holes in a PCB whose outline is derived from a sketch.

If I go into the original file (the one with the sketch), I cant re-select the profile which should be derived. Therefore adding the holes in the original sketch is also not possible.

addition (because I cant insert the screenshot in my answer):

If I create the holes in the 2D PCB and push it to the 3D PCB, I get this dialogue:

Unbenannt.PNG

Clicking yes only updates the parts (and their placement). If I click "no", I bet it would place the holes correctly. But it would also irretrievably delete the derive feature which would make it impossible to edit the board's outline with the original sketch.

Hi @hackbratenMTTKN ,

The reason of this behavior is the sketch derived from mechanical part is kind of "read only". We have realized that this could create problems when there are holes inside a footprint. We are now improving the behavior by separating holes from sketches. Hopefully we can release it in the October or November update.
