I'm primarily a Mac user, but use what operating system gets the job done. I default to Fusion360 on the Mac. The more users using Fusion360, the better. So here are a couple minor suggestions to improve the user experience from a primarily Mac user.
1. Place the application in the applications folder just like every other software company (that I know of). After all, the Applications folder is for applications. Yes, I have a short cut in the dock. But every couple months, Fusion360 stops working, the suggested solution online is to reinstall, and it is too long between re-installations to remember where the application is buried. At minimum, please place a shortcut in the applications folder, dock, desktop, or user's choice of location when installing, so we don't have to keep Googling how to find it every time it is installed.
2. Every time I open Fusion360, or it does its automatic update, every window (Safari, Mail, etc.) in the dock is opened up. Why does Fusion360 bring other application windows out of the dock? I usually have about 20 window open at a time of various applications. Every time Fusion360 opens or updates, I have to manually minimize each window back into the dock. I don't have this problem with any other Mac application.
3. Can't delete files. As I'm the only user in my workflow, I'd prefer not to have files in the cloud. But I can live with it. However, some files cannot be deleted because Fusion360 believes they are referenced in other files. I've opened every file and cannot find the references. It is very annoying not to be able to delete a file, especially when you delete its contents and there is nothing in it for other files to reference.
4. Spinning thing. In the Data panel, other files have the spinning thing (saving, uploading?) on them for hours. Right now I have three files in the Data Panel that have been spinning all day, even though I haven't opened those files in weeks.
These are minor. But these are the types of things that drive Mac users to other applications.
Thanks for the hard work and open discussion of problems and developments.
