Support for Multiple Monitors

Support for Multiple Monitors

Hi,

This is something that I really miss.

Add a support for multiple monitors.

Proper docking, allow to be always on top when on different screen etc...

It would be great o look at assembly, or drawing or something, while working on part, or something else.

Thx,

Matt

Working on a file now where going back and forth between one tab and another is a time sink. Being able to break a tabbed model out to another monitor would be great.

Thanks for this idea. We agree this would be a nice addition. Currently, the desktop version of Fusion 360 is not architected to support this, but the browser-based version should be able to handle this nicely. We'll investigate how to support this as we continue to build out the browser experience.

It would help a LOT to be able to have a different view of the model on a second monitor or to see a different Fusion design (or past version of a design) on the second monitor!

+1 for desktop version.

I agree,

Being able to have different views on separate monitors would help tremendously.

Bump this up.  I used to just run 2 instances of fusion and run 1 on each monitor, but recently after an update this no longer works. It won't load the second instance.

Yep, Multi Monitor support so I cna have the render on one screen while creating it on the other, or alternate views.

I could really like to be able to move the Data Panel, Sketch Palette and toolbars to the second monitor.

please please please make this so ... multiple monitors, a different document on each monitor and a tool pallet on a third would make life a dream

I have been trying two monitors and everytime I switch applications all my tools on the second monitor get repositioned.

Yes,

This would help productivity a bunch!

I am migrating from solidworks, which almost has it down. Only problem with SW is their toolbar (sketches, features, etc) only displays on one screen, it would be nice to almost have an option of two complete screens. If that makes sense.

either way dual monitor support would be huge!

I run 2 computers, one with 5x21" displays portrait, and one with 2x27" landscape. Fusion drives me nuts, because I can effectively use one display unless I want split pane syndrome. I want to be able to split my tools out on a floating tool box, the browser, different views of the same model in different windows, and different design models open in different  windows. Fusion effectively confines me to one screen and then makes very poor use of that screen space, rigidly putting things in certain places. it's also horrifically overly modal, why does NOTHING work while orbit or pan? Why are they modal at all? Why aren't they able to be activated by a key combination while a particular key combination is pressed or held. (such as holding the alt key or windows/command key, or shift key?).

These are major usability features that are missing.

dude, we need multi monitor functionality.  multiple views, multiple design tabs open, work in seperate modes at the same time...., multiple tool palettes open.  you could add a serious increase in productivity with this.

Still waiting on this.

Trying to work on one display is cramped and severely limiting.

If anything is going to be a dealbreaker between 2 different products for working in 3 dimensions, its decent snapping and viewports for multiple monitors.  Constantly swapping between different views and rotations while the 2 adjacent monitors sit unused is migraine inducing.  Having a bevel down the middle of one giant window is worse.

As a developer of this platform you need dual screen otherwise your customers will start using your competitors software.

YUUUP. Dual monitors is a must for anything intensive in my (limited?) experience. Working on assemblies, being able to view multiple components at a time is priceless. Not sure at all why this wasn't integrated from the get-go. Love the program but this is one major flaw that limits my workflow speed and overall usability of the program.

Funny, I just discovered this was even a problem, only because I just set up a dual monitor setup, stupidly assuming a product of this calibre would support it ...

Secondly, to see that this support ticket has been open for quite some time, without a solution, is troubling to say the least. I am coming from a graphic design, audio and other cad software solutions for decades that have this capability almost universally.

To breakout palettes, tabs and views to different displays is a MASSIVE time saver when you have the space available and it is extremely disappointing to see it omitted on a platform I was all set to use more seriously in my workflow. I just set up the user profiles in my adobe suite for dual monitors, snap, its done.

Guys, this app is truly a killer app otherwise. Please just make it so 🙂

If you're not going to add multiple monitor support, please tell your marketing team not to advertise it. fusion multi monitor support.JPG
