Sketch - make chamfer tool

Sketch - make chamfer tool

Hi,

I would like to see a tool similar to the fillet tool in the sketch environment but for making chamfers rather than fillets. Sure, you can do it by drawing a line, but it is convenient just like how you don't need to draw an arc with the fillet tool..

My $.02 is that it's always better to add fillets and chamfers with 3D options because if you ever decide you don't want a fillet at a certain location, or you want to change some geometry in the sketch, it just works better if you don't have the chamfers and fillets in the sketch. But I still think it should be an option.

@XanderLuciano:

You are absolutely right of course. But in this specific case the resulting pocket feature would be part of a pattern which I want to have the flexibility of changing. Using then a 3D chamfer would cause a lot of reassignment of edges.

@jkelindberg Make one pocket, then do the 3D chamfer, then when you go to pattern it, choose pattern features and select the chamfers as well.

Thank you for you idea, due to the amount of higher priority items in the sketch teams backlog this is getting archived.  I do think this a good idea.  Just because an item gets archived doesn't mean it won't be done, it will just be a while before we can evaluate doing it.
