Selection groups for bodies

Hi Guys, often when I'm working with forms such as one in the image above, I need to be able to tweek certain groups of elements at any given time, sometimes I need a minor adjustment, other times I need a large shift and it's quite annoying to have to reselect the same faces and edges everytime I need an increment.

Yes I know I can just slowly adjust the form as needed, but it'll be easier if It was possible to have some form of quick select of faces on the model.

Potential issue would be after modification of the forms, if additional faces were added after use of the selection group, those added faces would be excluded, a work around would be the option to edit the group and add faces to it. I imagine it to work as a drop down arrow that belongs to each body.
