Right mouse button menu to make body transparent

Right mouse button menu to make body transparent

I need to temporarily set a body obstructing my view to be transparent. If I right mouse button select on a body the drop down menu allows the user to toggle show or hide the body. It would be nice if an additional function could be added but to toggle between transparent and opaque instead of show/hide.

Maybe "Enable/Disable"?

Maybe the default "Disable" setting could also be to set the Body/Component "Unselectable" as a convenience.

Best,

Brian

If you could do it in a non-annoying way, it'd be great to have a way to drill down through things (something like if there are five objects on top of the one you want, just click and hold and slowly penetrate to the right depth).

Maybe I'm not understanding roambotics_scott. We have that. Press and hold displays a list of what is under your cursor, and you can slide down the list then select what you want. Or do you mean you want to parse structure/item hierarchy... not objects/entities?

Best,

Brian

A similar feature that I LOVED in 3DVia Composer was the ability of "ghosting" parts.

When you had your mouse pointer over a part, if you pressed the TAB key it showed as nearly transparent making it unselectable. In a big assembly you were able to go "digging" with the TAB key until you find the part you want. When you moved the mouse pointer out of the way to the background, all the ghosted parts returned to normal state.

This was a very fast way of exploring assemblies with lots of parts without having to go hiding and unhiding.
