Please release Windows version of Fusion360 in Microsoft Store

I would like to install Fusion360 through the Microsoft Store so that product updates are done through that channel and so that my computer is kept clean from registry changes etc (since apps released via Microsoft Store are running in a contained environment).

Please release it there, just like Fusion360 is released in the macOS App Store.

This would also relieve you from needing to spend time maintaining your own update system, so that you have more time to spend on developing Fusion360 itself.

First and foremost, I’d like to invite you to stay respectful and inform yourself before posting (such) a comment.

Microsoft Store packaged apps still use a registry indeed, but they do not write to the *global* registry anymore as traditional programs would do. It is a “local registry” stored in a file restricted to that app. This guarantees a clean uninstall as one of the benefits of converted desktop apps and Microsoft Store apps (see https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/bridges/desktop).

The technical details you can read at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/porting/desktop-to-uwp-behind-the-scenes#registry.

Besides that, users would have a better experience finding and (re)installing the app if we could install it from the Microsoft Store, and Autodesk would have more time developing Fusion360 itself rather than the installer/update mechanism.

They still have the apple work to do it brings a new level of slow down of dev, they have the apple store version and it's not that good of a way to get it, it has its own problems where the ADSK store does not have these problems.                                                                               Also not everyone would wont to get it from the windows store they will get it from there reseller who is there tech support.

So it adds more work for the fusion team.

Resellers can still provide support even if it is installed through the store. Resellers also did not make their own floppy disks and cd-roms in the past, did they?

I think Autodesk can handle the distribution, resellers are more about sales, training, support and being a contact person.

The thing is just that I want a clean install / uninstall and updates. The current installer writes to the global windows registry which pollutes it. Also the updater creates a new temporary folder every time which does not work together well with "Controlled Folder Access" (windows feature preventing malware to change data in personal folders). If Fusion360 could stay within its sandbox / container, which is facilitated by either using MSIX or releasing in the Microsoft Store, we would keep cleaner computers and have more control over access to our personal folders.
