More file Attributes for Sorting and Searching

More file Attributes for Sorting and Searching

We need More file Attributes for Sorting and Searching like:

Project, Sub-Assembly, Material, Revision, Approval Status, Drawn By ...

Please get rid of the folder structure more and more and just use folders to inherid the Folder attributes to the files in the folders. i.e. Project Road-Bike2021 folder all files in the folder have the "Project Road-Bike2021" Attribute in their metadata saved.

This make the database much more userfriendly and stable for large file numbers.

We also need a part number generator, should be easy to implement in the cloud eviroment. Use a unique ID# in the background for all files generated.

cheers and thanks, Martin

Hi @martin.meingassner ,

Can you please elaborate on this idea? Are you referring to the view of components in Fusion 360, the list of components in Fusion Team, or the list of attributes in the Item Details page and Attachments tab of Fusion Lifecycle?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Giliar,

took me some time. But now I'm back to this Topic - it's really important for our new project to get improved PDM features here for handling our Data in a better way.

>Can you please elaborate on this idea? Are you referring to the view of components in Fusion 360, the list of components in Fusion Team, or the list of attributes in the Item Details page and Attachments tab of Fusion Lifecycle?

I'm referring to the view of components in Fusion 360, i.e. this "Grabcad-Project" folder:

^The only thing which helps us to control large amount of data currently is "Sort by Last Updated". We need sorting by more file Attributes (Material, Project, Mass, Date Created, Creator, Version...)   as most PDM System like Vault/SWX-PDM... do it. But just in the ultra user friendly Fusion Cloud style - we love this!

^The search field is ultra limited, we need the same ... searching by more file Attributes (Material, Project, Mass, Date Created, Creator, Version...)

For Drawings we need an automaticly filled Revision table, where just the revision details have to be put in. Time, User, Revision ... comes straight from the system and is pre-filled. If a drawing is approved, PDF generated, STEP generated & good. As simple as possible, as said please keep the style where you are in.

I'm not entierly sure how far I should elaborate our needs here, because I'm pretty sure you solved a lot already but not release ready yet:

We need this badly:

We've been in a staff meeting session recently with Hooper & Co and placed our needs there to, PDM improvements is one of the three priorities from HGI side. Please get back to me for a direct webmeeting so we can proceed faster here.

One last thing to add:

If've told Hooper & Co that we are easy willing to pay 1000€/$/a for a better Fusion/PDM/Lifecycle per seat. But from a programmer and simplistic standpoint I love that Fusion right now just has one price and some things come on to with pay-per-use-cloud points. So please don't rip appart this nice simple setup system, we may also just pay in cloud points for a really well done easy to use Fusion Lifecycle PDM system.

thanks & cheers, Martin/HGI
