Currently, shift is the only modifier key used in conjunction with mouse buttons for navigation. So middle mouse pans, shift + middle mouse orbits. I would like to add control as option for zooming with the middle mouse button. This would be hugely beneficial for tablet users, who have only two mouse buttons at their disposal and thus won't have to sacrifice one button for zooming!
Unfortunately, they don't. I hope that these settings can be customised once the second stage of the Customisable Keyboard Shortcuts update arrives. Just picking a package is insufficient imho.
