Measuring Countersink Angle

Measuring Countersink Angle

I use Fusion to CNC machine parts for customers, some of which do not provide detailed drawings for their jobs. When I have to machine a countersink I then have to measure the included angle inside Fusion. I would like the Inspect tool to be able to recognize a countersink when I click on it and display the included angle.

Currently I select the upper and lower circles of the countersink and use the difference between the radii and the distance between the circles to calculate the angle with trig, but this takes a bit of time and effort. This is pretty easy for 90deg countersinks but we also do a lot of 30, 60, 82, 100, and 120deg, and some parts have multiple countersink angles so every hole must be verified through this process.

I would think this tool would be fairly easy to implement since a countersink is a cone with two concentric circles, the inspect tool could measure the angle between the axis of the cone and another line intersecting each circle.

I came here to suggest the same idea :). Have an upboat!
