I would like to request that you make the measurement tool more able to select and measure between surfaces that have been "cut" using a section analysis. I have many interior dimensions that I need to measure and its a pain to have to rotate the view so that I can find a way to see one of the surfaces I wish to use as a measurement tool. Twould be much easier if I could accomplish this while looking at a section.
Hi Hanswurst - Thank you for the suggestion! We agree this is something that would be useful. Unfortunately I don't see this as something we will be able to deliver on in the immediate future however I am logging this into our planning process for future consideration.

This is something I would like to see. It's been over a year since this was posted. I was about to post this exact idea but it already exists. Can you comment on where it stands in the development plan?
The original poster indicated that his workaround is merely to spend more time rotating to select the right entities, but I see it differently. You can't always just select two surfaces to measure a gap. Within a section view, you should be able to select and measure distances, lengths, angles, etc between virtual vertices and edges, and measure areas of faces.
