Improve Offline Data Panel

Improve Offline Data Panel

The current offline data panel seems to organize files randomly. It's certainly not alphabetical and doesn't appear to be by creation or modified date.

It would be great to be able to sort by name or modified date. Ideally it would work exactly like the online data panel, except files/folders/projects that aren't cached would be absent or greyed out.

Offline file storage in general is fraught with version control issues.

You can go to your username > Preferences > General and INCREASE your offline file cache days.

The "random" order is actually based on Icon Only view of showing the oldest offline model first, followed in order to the last model being the most recent model to be offlined.

I agree that Offline model isn't great, but I believe Fusion 360 is being designed for an always connected world, with offline being a method for ensuring you can still work with your model until your internet network access is restored.

I understand that Fusion 360 is built to be primarily a connected program and that's how I use it, but I recently needed to use the offline mode to workaround a drawing de-linking problem and found it difficult to find my files.

I'm not sure when Fusion decides to offline files, but models and drawings I've created in the last few weeks are scattered all over the list among files I haven't even looked at in months.

In times like these (server outage) the offline data panel is a terrible mess!

Finding a part or design takes a while! They are not even alphabetically ordered. At least that would make some sense.

I'm new to Fusion 360.

New to AutoDesk products in general.

I started banging my head against the wall to learn F360 about two weeks ago - since then there have been crashes, outages, and now this total blackout.

Each time I've been forced to use the offline browser. The more files I have produced, the worse it gets.

Here's the thing - because I have found the cloud system so flaky, I have been manually saving multiple versions during drawing/editing.

So, now I have dozens of similar-looking drawings from each project - the only way I can see which one I want is to open all of them, one at a time until I hit the right self-titled version number.

In other words, the offline browser is a *Total Nightmare!*

Please guys, sort this mess of a panel out!

And Please PLEASE come up with a better way of having files synced locally as well to the 'cloud.'

(Now you know why us Xbox One gamers chucked our teddies out of the pram when the XBone was supposed to be "always online" - no cloud = *Game Over!!*)
