Hi,
I'm presently working on a design that has two levels of imported components (so... working level, imports component level 1, which in turn references a level 2 imported component). I want to use component construction features (e.g. planes) at the working level, but toggle their visibility as and when I need them.
At the moment sub component planes and features are read-only at the importing level. The only way to change their visibility is to open the component, change the desired visibility, save, go back to the working level, update component to latest. That's a huge amount of effort and time, which results in new versions of the sub-component each time visibility is saved. On a slow internet connection, this seems to be a totally unnecessary complication that consumes a lot of time.
F360 already allows visibility of sub-components to be changed, so why not construction features too? Construction features (planes, axes and points) should be controllable at whatever layer you're on, no matter how deep the feature is - it would reduce clutter, which in turn would make F360 more friendly.
I suspect that components are imported as objects, inheriting everything with some methods, such as position, being overridden when needed. Can't you do the same for construction features too?
