Fill Surface

Fill Surface

Need fuctionality within PATCH to create an nSided tangen or smooth fill surface with constraint curves. This would be a surface with 5 or more sides as well as just 3 sides. The need for this is more common than you might expenct. 5 sided surfaces are common in fillet intersections. The fillet tool is an example but would not be a sucessful way to create a 5 sided surface. Other systems offer unlimited sided surfaces.

Hi @Anonymous,

This is actually what the Patch tool in the Patch workspace (confusing naming we know, we plan to change that 🙂 ) is designed to do.  This takes a closed chain with any number of edges, and fits a surface to those curves, with control for boundary continuity. Something we don't support yet is setting different continuities at different edges, but that is in the works. Is there anything about the Patch tool today that makes it unsuitable for the surfaces you are trying to create?

Thanks!

Jake
