Expand sheet metal for cutting tubes

Expand sheet metal for cutting tubes

A lot of rectangular and round tubes are laser cut these days.  Please expand the functionality of sheet metal so that tubes can also be cut properly, with the cuts always perpendicular to the surface of the tube.  Here are some screen shots from Creo as an example.

Tubes need to be designed the way in which they are actually cut by the machine!

Some of my work with laser cut tubes can be seen at:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGv0WSWzZ7nq7OrLuQgytZA

If you watch this you will see why I need this feature.

1.  This is the way Fusion360 would make a cut in a tube (correct me if I am wrong, I have barely used it)

2.  These are proper sheet metal cuts, with the sketch projected onto either the inner or outer surface, and then cut perpendicular to the surface:

I need this functionalilty to make things like this:

Is it just me - I can't see any inline images?

Please could you post them again?

Any word on support or workarounds for this?

Hi David,

I was told that the only way to push this forward (as an integrated feature) was to gain support for it via my post.
My command of Fusion is insufficient to suggest a workaround.
