DRAWING: copy/paste text elements

DRAWING: copy/paste text elements

Would be great to not have to retype/reformat duplicate text elements in the DRAWING space.

You can do this today by copying the text within a text box and pasting it in a new text box. You just can't copy the entire text box.

Thought I had done this before; copy and paste text from one drawing to another. Copy standard notes for example, and no I am not interested in managing templates with notes!  Recently encountered wasting way too much time again trying to do something that used to work, with Fusion 360. Current edition (2.0.3803) does not appear to support this??  Talked with others that use more often and had shocked looks that I had ever been able to do this in the first place!  Long since resigned to typing...  Support with COPY and PASTE selections on wheel would be useful.  Similar as Copy & PASTE to/from Clipboard in AutoCAD.  Thanks in advance.

@keqingsong - Copying the contents is not the same.  Would be great to copy with all the formatting and then double-click to change some text (if necessary).

Since nearly all the other elements are dependent on drawing elements, copying/pasting them doesn't make much sense (would need to re-link the elements).  But text is different: sometimes a standard note is duplicated in multiple places.  Or you want to maintain consistent formatting: "Notes" section in drawings, etc.

Yes, Keqing Song is correct. The text inside the box can be copied/pasted. I tend to make a NotePad file with the standard text used across multiple drawings to provide consistency.

1) However, it would be a great feature to copy/pasted the entire text box and then control it location/alignment.

2) It would also be handy, if the last font size used would be retained with adding more text. At the moment it uses the default.

Both of these functions would save a great deal of time and provide a more consistent final drawing.Smiley Happy

Keqing: that is a perfectly valid work around if productivity isn't a concern.

Copying and pasting text from within a text box does not work on the MacOS version of F360 (latest update as of the date of this post).

I know it's copying because I can paste it into a notepad file, but it does not paste back into another text box within the DRAWING module of F360.

Hello Juan, Yes it would. I've retuned to using mostly AutoCAD.

Fusion was just too time consuming to put up with; and poor appearing drawing results, for basic work that needs to be shared with vendors.
