Converting Surfaces to Sheet Metal

It would be extremely useful if we could convert surfaces created using the offset tool (Patch) to Sheet Metal which we could then create flat patterns of.

Currently I am using a work around which requires a number of Steps which I have demonstrated in the video attached.

This is a nice workaround - would be good to see this trick integrated - constantly getting 'surfaces' from designers with sheet metal needs.

Thanks Daragh, this is a great work around - would not have thought of doing this workflow in all eternity and it works a charm! Very annoying that you can't convert the body to sheet metal without doing this and it would be great to see it brought in to the software.
