Bring all the export extensions from Fusion Team into Fusion 360 desktop app.

Bring all the export extensions from Fusion Team into Fusion 360 desktop app.

Why the hell do we have to open Fusion Team to get access to more export options?

And the worst, you can't even direct download the file, you will need to open your email to get the link:

What if I lost my connection and urgently need to export a project? It's really annoying and unpractical.

Why don't you guys just put these export options right inside Fusion 360 Desktop client? I would be glad.

I've been a software developer for more decades than I like to admit.   I'm thinking that this is not really all that hard.   The file export code exists it is just a matter of moving it and then some user interface changes.   Seems like the payoff to effort ratio should make this go closer to the top of the to-do list.

In short "export" needs to by under the "file" menu  File->Export  This is what users expect to see as "everyone" does it like that.

Also why not place the export code in the client.   Your servers cost money and the client is willing to do the conversion.  If converting to a STEP file took massive computations that had to be distributed over an entire server rack then yes, do it with high-end servers in the data center.  But I'm certain a client computer can do a export to STEP.

About storage:  The model to use is "Goggle Drive".  Most systems keep a cache of the data on the user's computer and the software sync's this with cloud based storage.  This method is almost universal.   Fusion should do this too.  I would prefer if all my files were local, but also copied  to the cloud so they can be accessed from anywhere.

I always thought export options were limited in F360 (eg cf Solidworks etc. ) ... Now I can see why - its a subset of what's actually available.

c'mon guys,  unlock the cookie jar 🙂

Before Fusion 360, Users expected to pay lots of $ for software like this. Yes, I think it could be made more accessible to obtain the exported file types, but, they are available and the lightweight client side is a big benefit in my experience and opinion.

Just to make myself crystal-clear: a lightweight client has nothing to do with the exporting options in the interfacing, my suggestion isn't to make Fusion convert the files locally, but instead, as it does already with the render environment and the simulation environment, we could have the ability to trigger these cloud conversion functions via the desktop app interface, and above all, without having to access any email to complete the process.

@Brady_Fulton Actually to be honest Fusion is the “ONLY” app that cannot locally export into obj etc.

there should be no reason to offer it. T-splines can save as obj mesh. The complete design or components or bodies can be saved as store. Still is fine for some basic stuff but if you want to get materials exported via the mesh obj it is.

stl has a meaning setting - obj web does not.

obj export web needs an internet connection, clutters your email account via emails, recently requeed exports are not 100% always generated

The web interface is cool in case it would ask me where to send the download link to for sharing.

in a plane in offline mode - yeah no web export ...
