Automatically Name STL files the name of the Bodies you are making the file for

Well, this one is a no brainer! If I have to make 50 STL files for prototyping, I should not have to type the name of each part when creating the STL file.

Lets get this iplememted and speed up everyones workflow, woohooo! This one should be easy to implement.

@eric_strebel, I recently posted a post which reflects your idea in keeping the name of the body and using it for the component - see "Body Name Auto-Populates Component Name". 

I'd love to see yours enacted as well as it makes sense. If you have gone to the trouble of naming your bodies then it makes sense that your output files or components created from these bodies would be named accordingly. Besides its not like you can't override it afterwards if it were wrong, issue now is they are always wrong/blank/generic.

Any chance we can bundle similar features together into this process? For instance I have posted the below item:

Body Name Auto-Populates Component Name

But there are also a few other similar posts that are requesting that names of bodies or components are honoured or made editable at more appropriate times when processing them or changing them....another one that springs to mind is:

Name a Function/Operation as you create it option

OK, so this works now! well done. It makes things much easier now for making .stl files. Than you for your effort.

Would it be possible to select multiple objects, then right click and have "save as stl" as an option and have the system make all the selected parts seperate .stl files with the correct names of course??? Now that would be a huge time saver...

I can start a new suggestion if that is best. The same option should exist for STEP files with a large assembly. Getting stuff quoted from vendors often means they are lazy and want all the files seperate. They are to lazy to pull all the parts one by one! YES, its true there are lazy CAD operators out there, hehehehhe.

Cyrrently no such option exists...
