Add a View All Constraints window.

Add a View All Constraints window.

I strongly encourage you guys to make a menu or list where I can see all the constraints in my sketch. Right now, if a sketch is binding up or overconstrained, I can to painstakingly sift through the dozens of tiny little icons littering my sketch, deleting one here or there hoping it will be the one causing the problem. In NX, you can "View All Constraints" in a textual list, choose one and delete it.

Here is a picture from NX. If this already exists in some form, thanks! By and large I'm really enjoying modeling in Fusion so far, but this one was tricky.

Likewise in SolidWorks, you can click a line, or any part of a sketch, at it will list all the constraints. This is very helpful fo eliminiating some of them when you would like to make a large change to the sketch.

Agreed, Bryce. For a wide variety of reasons I am not a fan of Solidworks, but the one thing it does quite while is constraints. Solidworks has a troubleshooter that, when a sketch becomes overconstraints, lists all the solutions to the problem (aka, each dimension or constraint that could be deleted to free the sketch). This would be most ideal, but the view all constraints window is a good start.

Totally agree. This was the first thing i looked for when i had issues with an over constrained sketch. Was very supprised to find it didnt exist.
I have managed to mostly adapt, but i commonly find myself deleting every constraint in an area and reapplying one by one, or even deleting curves/lines and redrawing as a workaround.

I totally agree that a fly out or contextual option on the sketch palate to to ease in selecting existing constraints is needed.  Also better highlighting of the matching entities in a constraint relationshop would be very helpful.

It would also be nice to be able to select, for example, 10 circles and then click the equal constaint rather than have to do them in pairs.

Hi Zero,

Thank you for your submission. I am currently working on a better way to inform users what constraints are causing an overconstrained status. We are looking into several competitve products to determine what will be the best solution. This is a complicated project that will take time and research from the team. We will prioritize against all of our other projects.

A suggestion on a simple UI for implementing this is to use the existing constraints display when you select an object. It now shows constraints you can add based on the selected object type, but is marginally useful since many constraints can not be added due to other constraints created in the sketch. My suggestion would be to redefine this and show the existing constraints on the selected object in the display, then pop-up on the constraints to allow deletion. Better still you can go with a two color approach, leave the existing functionality, but add a background color that shows it is also an existing one. The popup would allow deletion or a new addition as it currently does.

yes pleeze!!!!   all constraints need to be immediately obvious

This is needed badly! Also, the ability to re-define the constraint references.
