A promise about pricing and no premium tiers.

A promise about pricing and no premium tiers.

Guys, I'm really starting to like this software. A lot. I'm telling my friends about it now. I'm doing my public designs in it. It's great, but if there's one looming thing that everyone points out when you mention Fusion 360 is the price. It's almost too good. I'm terrified that you're going to roll out "premium tiers" and get rid of the hobby and start-up licenses. I'm afraid that it's going to be alibre cad all over again. 99 bucks today 1500 tommorrow.

I like that there is one license tier. That if I share a design with someone they have all the features I do. I hate this standard, professional, premium stuff other cad suites try and pull. I like that it's genuinely affordable for personal and buisness levels.

If I could have one, "feature," (and one that no other CAD suite has) it would be some sort of promise that you won't look at us like a bunch of potential drug addicts. Giving us a taste now so we can be hooked later. Is there any guarentee that If I start putting my reputation on the line for your product, that I will be rewarded by a reciprocated loyalty?

bad news there is going to be 2 fusion levels up to 3 maybe 4 axis and 5th axis for the next level

There are 2 levels now and always has been, don't know if more will be added. At the moment the hobby and start-up licenses are for Ultimate. So if you get to a point where you start paying you will lose some features switching to the $300.00 version.

Some info on differences.

PS got my fingers burned with Alibre\Geomagic as well so hope there's no bait and switch here.

That is everyone fear of switching to this product. We've seen it to many times!

Hello @dammitcotezee, @Anonymous, @HughesTooling & @daniel_lyall,

Our intention with Fusion 360 is plain and simple -  take access to CAD/CAM software off your worry list and help you focus on problems that need your attention.

Staying true to our intent, please be assured that we will continue to offer free, unrestricted access for Students/Startups/Hobbyists and low price point for commercial.

Cheers,

-srinath

Cloud pricing in general has made most things much less expensive to use and update. As long as there is competition from I wouldn't worry about Fusion 360 being priced out of range. OnShape's $80 million in funding last year means that the competition for Cloud based CAD users is heating up. I appreciate Autodesk's continued investment in Fusion 360 and look forward to pushing the product forward.
